#FreeAustinOkai Nigerians protest prolonged detention of Blogger and Youth Leader, Austin Oka

Concerned Nigerians have taken to social media platform, twitter to express their thoughts on the continued detention of popular blogger and convener, PDP National Youth Frontiers, Mr. Austin Okai by the security operatives believed to be from the Special Anti-robbery Squad, SARS, on the orders of the Kogi State Governor.

Mr. Okai was reportedly picked up and whisked away to Lokoja on Sunday, April 9, 2017 by the security operatives after he was allegedly trailed to an eatery on Abacha Barrack in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), where he had gone to eat with some of his friends.

Mr. Okai was arrested on the orders of Governor Yahaya Bello for circulating reports of his alleged inflation of contracts to acquire vehicles for traditional rulers and his commissioners. He was also charged for falsely accusing the State government of buying cars worth $12m, orchestrating rumors of the governor’s death, and inciting the public against the governor. He has also been accused of conspiracy to burn down the newly-built Revenue House in the Lokoja.

Mr. Okai was granted bail after appearing in court , but he was rearrested and detained by men of the Police .

No shame whatsover..a fellow citizen has been held for days now. No charge..even after being granted bail by a Court..
Where will the idea of truth & reality be if we push the truth & facts under the carpet & allow illegal actions to triumph?
Truth cannot shine if we fail to accept truth or consider it illegal to tell the truth. , Nnamdi Kanu, El Zakzakky@MBuhari

Mr. @Austinokai 's incarceration after a court granted him bail is totally unacceptable and must be condemned by all lovers of our democracy
The frequent detention of active citizens under this misfortune called APC has placed our democracy on reverse gear.
